Gene E. Vogt
Founder and Lead Auctioneer
Gene is the leading auctioneer in South Texas. He has conducted more than 2000 successful estate auctions and is a recognized expert in estate and charity auctions.

Gene was recently honored as a Hildago de San Antonio de Bejar for his continuing support of conservation of historical art and antiquities. Fellow honorees include Tom Frost of Frost Bank, William Sinkin, founder of Hemisfair '68, and B.J. 'Red' McCombs.

Mr. Vogt is a native of Schulenburg, Texas, and served honorably in the U.S. Army, Infantry during the Vietnam era on active duty from April 1965 to April 1967 and on Ready Reserve from April 1967 to April 1971. Gene holds a degree in International Finance from The University of Texas at Austin. Texas Auctioneer license #7825.

Rob Vogt, ISA

Rob focuses on operations, branding and online marketing as well as performing charity auctions. Prior to joining Vogt Auction Galleries, Rob was a Senior Producer at Yahoo. Earlier in his career, Rob was a television anchor/reporter for two Texas-market NBC affiliates, and an editor for the San Antonio Express-News. Mr. Vogt holds a degree in Journalism from Pepperdine University. Texas Auctioneer license #15958.

Katy Alexander, ISA AM
Director of Specialty Auctions, Fine Art Specialist, 210-822-6106
Katy is responsible for coordinating all online speciality auctions as well as fine art appraisal and consignments. She curates quarterly Texas Art auctions, as well as manages outside art brokerage. She is an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers and serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Appraisal Education. Prior to joining Vogt, Katy was the Director of Ruiz-Healy Art (San Antonio/New York) 2007-2013. She holds a master’s degree in Art History from the University of Arizona, and taught Art History for the college level for 12 years.

Gavin Ricks, Jr.

Gavin serves as Vogt Auction’s Media Manager and is responsible for our video and photo marketing. He has extensive experience in product photography and managing small e-commerce teams. Mr. Ricks’ previous positions include Amazon product manager, e-commerce specialist and retail/warehouse manager. In his spare time, Gavin enjoys collecting and shooting medium and large format film cameras.

Bill Waring, PMP
Operations Manager, Firearms Specialist
Bill oversees all aspects of front-office operations including accounting, billing, project management, and human resources. Bill also curates our periodic firearms auctions. Prior to joining Vogt, Bill spent 25 years in operations management in various industries. Bill served in active duty in the U.S. Air Force and is a former Comal County Sheriff’s deputy. Mr. Waring holds a psychology degree from Texas State University, San Marcos.

Gabe Echeverry
Decorative Arts Specialist
Consignment Director, Luxury Estates
Gabe curates quarterly Luxury Estates auctions and focuses on the appraisal and outside brokerage of decorative arts. Prior to joining Vogt, Gabe was a specialist at Peachtree & Bennett Auction in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Echeverry completed an apprenticeship with appraiser Anne Alexander and has been involved in the antiques scene since 2006.

Kaitlyn Luhrman
Kaitlyn is respobsible for cataloguing items in all weekly and speciality auctions as well as assisting on formal appraisals. Prior to joining Vogt, Kaitlyn worked for the Witte Museum. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio in Art History and is currently pursuing her ISA appraiser qualification.

Marie Brown, ISA
Marie focuses on the appraisal and cataloguing of art and antiques for private and institutional clients. Marie is a Member of the International Society of Appraisers and has completed an internship at Rottet Interior Design Studio in Los Angeles. Ms. Brown holds a degree in Studio Art from Trinity University.

Robert Bruce
Gallery Manager
Robert is in charge of gallery operations and logistics. He is an antiques expert and recognized figure in the South Texas estates scene. A San Antonio native, Mr. Bruce has been with Vogt Auction Galleries for more than 25 years.

Martin Bruce
Estates Manager
Martin works with estates with a focus on art and restoration. Like his brother Robert, he is also a recognized figure in the South Texas antique & art community. A versatile and knowledgeable antiques expert, Mr. Bruce has been with Vogt Auction Galleries for more than 25 years.
